Babbling Babies!

Just because your little one is able to speak yet, it doesn't mean they aren't able to communicate.  There are lots of books on the topic of talking with babies (we'll review these in the weeks to come) and we've just added a wonderful article by Roxane Bélanger who is a speech-language pathologist with the preschool speech and language service in Ottawa, First Words. The Birds and the Bees...Please!

What are the lyrics to Joni Mitchell's "Yellow Taxi"...?  "Hey farmer farmer, Put away that d.d.t. now, Give me spots on my apples, But leave me the birds and the bees, Please!"  We all know the song...it's been redone by just about everyone.  When you are feeding your baby those first peas and peaches, you may start thinking about these words in another light.  Whether you are making your own baby food or buying it...going organic is something that every new parent has considered at one point in time.

From Bump to Bedroom

New Childbirth Preparation Article

A new article under the category of Childbirth Preparation has just been posted.  It was written by Karen Reed, a certified birth doula and Lamaze birth educator. 

Karen provides women and couples in Halifax and the surrounding area with education, guidance and support during pregnancy, childbirth and with breastfeeding. 

We are very appreciative of doulas at CanadianBabies!  My own family had one doula at our first born's birth and two at our second born's birth.  If a 3rd baby were to come along, we'd have three doulas!
