Just because your little one is able to speak yet, it doesn't mean they aren't able to communicate. There are lots of books on the topic of talking with babies (we'll review these in the weeks to come) and we've just added a wonderful article by Roxane Bélanger who is a speech-language pathologist with the preschool speech and language service in Ottawa, First Words. Happy reading...and happy babbling! Goo!
Have a look at our first product review, highlighting the Baby Gizmo in Canada DVD. It's especially wonderful when we are able to showcase products that are uniquely Canadian. More reviews of more great products are on the way.
UPCOMING FREE EVENT :: Ask a Baby Expert!
Ask the authors of 'A Baby Guide to Calgary' and Kitty Raymond from Raymond Parenting your questions about parenting and Calgary's resources.
When: 2:30pm Saturday, February 17th, 2007
Where: McNally Robinson, 120 8th Ave S.W. (Stephan Avenue Mall), Prairie Ink Restaurant in Calgary, AB
What are the lyrics to Joni Mitchell's "Yellow Taxi"...? "Hey farmer farmer, Put away that d.d.t. now, Give me spots on my apples, But leave me the birds and the bees, Please!" We all know the song...it's been redone by just about everyone. When you are feeding your baby those first peas and peaches, you may start thinking about these words in another light. Whether you are making your own baby food or buying it...going organic is something that every new parent has considered at one point in time.
In our latest article, in our Food 101 section, Kalpna Solanki, founder of BoBoBaby, writes about organic food for your baby.
We've just posted our February Shopping Guide...and these products almost make us want to have more babies! Have a look at this month's guide and our wonderful sponsors. Enjoy the rest of the month!
Have a look at our newest Yummy Mummy Club article. Erica Ehm shares her thoughts regarding one of our greatest parenting tools - your own mommy or daddy instincts.
As Canadian parents and yes, even as Yummy Mummy's, arm yourself with as much information as you can get regarding parenting, surround yourself with positive and supportive family and friends, get the best medical care for your family and most, importantly, trust your own instincts!
I want to welcome our two newest sponsors: My Bump Maternity and A Kids Corner. These two stores have absolutely gorgeous maternity clothes and children's furniture!
The collections are My Bump are beautiful and I just love the store's name! It's a good time to be pregnant and to show off your bump!
A Kids Corner has the most precious furniture for a little girls bedroom. My daughter is 4 years old and this furniture will definately be appropriate for her now and for her teen years. I want it too!
A new article under the category of Childbirth Preparation has just been posted. It was written by Karen Reed, a certified birth doula and Lamaze birth educator.
Karen provides women and couples in Halifax and the surrounding area with education, guidance and support during pregnancy, childbirth and with breastfeeding.
We are very appreciative of doulas at CanadianBabies! My own family had one doula at our first born's birth and two at our second born's birth. If a 3rd baby were to come along, we'd have three doulas!
Each month our city sites include a Baby Shower contest and here are our January Winners:
